University of Nairobi 62nd Graduation on 20 Dec 2019, List and Requirements

The University of NairobiCollege of Humanities and Social Sciences and College of Health Sciences willbe holding the 62nd graduation ceremony on 20th December2019. The university administration announced through the website on the event,which will be held at the Chancellor’s Court main campus.

UoN Is recognized as the crèmede la crème institution of tertiary education in the country and in EasternAfrica. Since its full founding in 1970, it has produced the highest number ofgraduates in the country; more than 240,000 according to its fact file.

The upcoming graduationceremony will only be enhancing the footprint of the institution locally andinternationally considering that more than 9000 students are poised tograduate. However, the conditions for graduation might lock out some students,as previously evident for instance in previous Moi Universitygraduation ceremonies.

Requirements

According to the memo, onlythose that had completed paying their fees by 20 November will graduate. Thosethat did were also required to confirm the order of their names by this date.

Graduands are also requiredto obtain clearance from respective departments, the library, accommodationoffice, games, and the school finance then pay a convocation fee of Ksh 1000.

Meanwhile, the gown will beobtained between 9th and 19th December after payment of anon-refundable gown hire fee of Ksh 4000 and will be required to return thegowns by 10th January 2020.

Interestingly, graduatesare allowed to purchase a gown but must contact the Deputy Registrar, CentralExaminations Centre for more details. Be ready to pour some serious cash sincea full undergraduate gown piece can set you back Ksh 43,000 according to AcademicDress Hire

The rehearsals shall beheld on Thursday, December 19 at the Chancellor’s court as from 10:00 am andall graduands are required to attend. Each graduand will be issued with twoinvitation cards for two guests and unfortunately, children will not beallowed. Finally, graduands and invited guests should be seated by 7:00 am onthe graduation day.
